Frequently Asked Questions
How do I sign up for ADHD coaching through Focusology coaching?
Use the form at the bottom of the website or the “SCHEDULE A CONSULTATION” link at the top right to express your interest in coaching. You’ll receive an initial intake survey to fill out via e-mail. Once you return the survey, you’ll get an access link to schedule a free 15 minute Zoom consultation via Calendly.
How do I know WHICH coaching plan is right for me?
Your initial intake survey will include questions about why you’re seeking coaching and what you’re hoping to accomplish. Using this information, we will discuss your options during your 15 minutes Zoom consultation and decide what is right for you. There are 3 options for coaching plans.
The 10 session plan includes the complete ADHD coaching program. The 5 session plan that is focused on GOALS is best for anyone who has a specific goal they’re committed to accomplishing - whether it be a tangible goal such as starting your own business, applying for college. etc. or a more broad goal of creating a productive weekly schedule. The 5 session plan focused on VALUES/STRENGTHS is for anyone who feels stuck or unfulfilled and is looking to discover what will give them more purpose and how they can lean into that.
How much does each coaching plan cost? What are my payment options?
Focusolog is currently offering introductory pricing rates. During this period, prices will not be posted on the website. Once you complete the initial intake survey, plan pricing will be shared. My goal is to make ADHD coaching accessible to more people which means that I aim to keep pricing below the market average.
In addition, you will be offered two different ways to pay and can choose the method that’s most convenient for you: one discounted upfront payment or a subscription based payment plan.
How does coaching work?
Once we decide the plan that is right for you, you’ll have access to the Calendly link to schedule your first coaching session. The 50 minute session will take place over Zoom. The recommended time between sessions is two weeks, but this can vary when needed. It’s important to give yourself time between sessions to work on the specific tool that was discussed in the previous session.
You’ll also have the option of a 15 minute accountability check-in between sessions - which can take place over Zoom or can be done via text or e-mail when necessary. The coaching session itself will include research-backed ADHD information and different tools and strategies focused on the specific issues you’re facing.
What’s the difference between coaching and therapy?
Coaching is focused on the present and future and is rooted in setting and achieving goals - both small and large. Coaching is a collaborative process that is solution-focused and can help you focus on immediate actions and see quick results. ADHD coaching is focused on personal development, productivity, and self-exploration.
Therapy is rooted in clinical practive and often devles into past experiences to help you understand how the past is preventing you from functioning optimally in the present. Therepy helps you get to a place of mental stability. It’s less collaborative, and the therapists often has the answers for you.
Coaching and therapy work well together because therapy is problem-focused and coaching is solution-focused. Therapy can help you to get to a place of stability that will allow you to focus on successfully following an action plan created by you and your coach during the coaching process.
WHAT IS YOUR COACHING STRATEGY?
I trained in the 3C Activation approach created by award-winning ADHD Coach, Brooke Schnittman. My coaching strategy will utilize the tenets of this program while leaning heavily toward a neurodiversity-affirming, strengths based approach.
